Easy Money

After 3 weeks LV had finally gotten to me. I could hardly see straight and would have happily spent the day in the room. Instead we opted for Golden Nugget’s great breakfast buffet. Harry went to play BJ, and I went on a sweatshirt, t-shirt hunt to find my daughter presents for “baby sitting” my 2 cats for 3 weeks while I was gone. Back to the room where it took us over 2 hours to pack. We had so much stuff that we didn’t have before such as 10 t-shirts and sweatshirts, and tons of Utah brochures. Hubby then went down to the pool and Jacuzzi. They close the pool at 6, and it was over 100 degrees. That seems ridiculous, but I guess they’ll start keeping it open longer in June.

When Harry got back to the room he wanted to know where I wanted to have dinner. I had already consulted the room service menu, but he wouldn’t hear of it. He wanted great ribs. I remembered reading about a place that many people swear by called Tommy Rockers, and he insisted we go. We were surprised when we walked in the door. I had led Harry to believe this was a really nice restaurant. It is a sports bar that offers online betting, and you know that atmosphere. Not quite the lovely quiet last night dinner Harry had been looking for. He didn’t want to stay. Turns out a guy just sitting at the bar heard us talking, and he interrupted and said he lived in LV, and said they had the best hamburgers and ribs in the world. Longer conversation revealed that he was a gymnast and a good friend of Bart Conners (the Olympic Gold Medalist) from the high school in our town. If anyone’s interested Bart Conners married Nadia Cominiche.(sic) They live in Oklahoma and have 5 children.

The Ribs? GREAT! Just writing about them is making my mouth water. They opened up the outside patio, and we ate out there overlooking the Bellagio, Monte Carlo, and of course, I-15. It was actually delightful.

Finally! It’s time to go home, and I can’t say I’m sorry. I may a have stretched this trip a little too far, but every minute was fun. We dropped the car at Dollar quickly, and went to wait for the shuttle. They have a spray mist sprinkling you under the awning while you wait. Nice touch . The flight was uneventful except for sitting on the tarmac for 45 minutes waiting to take off. The chicken dinner was barely edible. They must have gotten a different chef. They showed the movie Antitrust. Interesting with surprise happenings. Thanks for reading! play poker
